The Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance incurs a premium from the sole proprietors, and the fund is paid to employees instead of the owner. In principle, it applies to all businesses and companies that hire workers. If a worker is injured from industrial disasters,, he or she must submit an application to the Korea Workers' Compensation & welfare Service, and accident compensation wages may be provided after a review occurs.
Businesses or employees of affiliated businesses governed by the Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance Act or their families can apply for compensation in the case of injury, illness, disability, or fatality while on the job.
When filling out the application form for medical care expenses, be sure to record the content and date of accident in detail and correctly. If the worker gets treated at a medical institution for an industrial accident, he or she can make a request to the medical institution to apply for industrial accident compensation payment on his or her behalf.
